5 Minute Walk
The picture shown here is part of the project called "5 Minute Walk". In this project we were given the task of taking interesting pictures where ever we may be, to create an eye catching collaboration. The picture's shot during my 5 minute walk were taken in Florida, at the Animal Kingdom amusement park. The first picture I really enjoy due to the vibrant colors and shadows of the flower. At such a close distance it was hard to get the camera to focas while taking this picture. The second photo next to the flower, shows a giraffe holding an Africa sign to show where we were in the park. This picture stuck out because of the interesting angle and different colors. The roller coaster picture is beautiful because of the different colors and silhouette of the ride. I really enjoy the lantern photo because of the unusual angle and diverse color intensities. The mirror picture is interesting because you are able to see in two different directions, however shot at an angle so the camera is still not seen in the reflection. The final picture is of gorilla feet, I shot this picture because I liked the detail in the feet and the lighting in this final photo also struck me in a nice way. Overall I thought all of these photos meshed well together to create an eye catching composition.
Panograph Project
I really enjoyed this project, although it was hard to stitch the pictures together! In this project we had to find a large scene or object and zoom in on small parts of it. By zooming in we had pieces of the whole object, like pieces of a puzzle, and using photoshop we were able to stitch the puzzle pieces together. It was very difficult to get the pictures to line up perfectly, and if you look hard you may find something that doesn't line up quite right. What made me decide to do my project on this tree was how the branches curved and spread out. I thought it would look really interesting as a panograph when I tried to line up the branches and I really love the outcome!
Traditional Picture Within a Picture
For this segment of the project we had to hold a picture of ourself when we were younger and take a picture in the exact same place. This is a photo of me (upfront) and my sister on a bench in our backyard. I tried to line things up the best I could but it was difficult to get the camera to focus properly. I do like how the picture turned out though, even if it does not line up exactly.
Digital Picture Within A Picture
For this segment of the picture within a picture project we had to use a frame and digitally manipulate the picture to make an interesting composition. I decided to use the idea of summer and winter and using the frame as a peek into a summer memory or season. Using my friend as a model (who is also in my digital photo class) I took two photos. One where she was wearing winter gear and another where she was wearing summer cloths both doing the same pose though. I then took a picture of a frame from the internet and layered the photos. Cropping out certain parts to allow other photos to show through. I then played the hue and saturation of each layer (picture) and the outcome is what you see.
